Submit YOUR CELATalk Proposal
By Jean Hyams, Esq.

Greetings CELA Members,

We are extending the deadline to August 12th for you to submit your idea for a CELATalk! If you’re interested, please fill out the CELATalks Submission Form no later than August 12th. The videos themselves will be due in mid-September.

CELA’s Virtual Conference this year will open with a set of short, dynamic videos from CELA’s amazingly talented membership. That’s right, from your very own living room or home office (or anywhere, really), this is your chance to pitch your best idea about how other CELA members can make a difference in the lives of their clients, improve the way they practice law, advance the CELA vision, or up their litigation game!

The Education Committee is soliciting videos – 5-10 minutes long – that shine the spotlight on YOUR great ideas. (Though ideas you learned because someone else shared them are also welcome. After all, that’s the heart of the CELA ethos.) This will be a fun, dynamic way for us to share great practices and big ideas. And to showcase the amazing talent within CELA’s ranks. Please don’t let “Imposter Syndrome” stop you from sharing what you know. If you want some inspiration, here are a few TED Talks that demonstrate how a short, focused presentation can have a big impact:

Three ways to be a better ally in the workplace

Walking talks at work

A plug for smart power outlets

And here’s an 8-minute video on the secret of great TED talks.

You can share BIG ideas or simple fixes. What’s important is that they be ideas you have successfully put into practice.

Whether you’re new to CELA, whether you’ve spoken before at CELA conferences or not – this is your opportunity to shine and to share valuable information with your colleagues. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the CELATalks Submission Form to share your idea. And, if you’re really inspired, you can make a quick sample video to give us a flavor of what you have to say. Send questions and sample videos to jean@levyvinick.com.

On behalf of the CELA Education Committee, we can’t wait to see everyone, even if only virtually, in October!

In solidarity,
Jean Hyams
