The Public Employee Committee, co-chaired by Oshea Orchid and Dean Royer, works on issues of particular importance to public sector (federal, state, and municipal) employees. Nearly 300 CELA members indicate on their membership profile that they represent public employees (and over 100 represent federal employees). The committee has the potential to be one of CELA’s largest and strongest.

The committee works with CELA’s Policy Director, Mariko Yoshihara, on legislative and administrative issues; organizes educational events (webinars, annual conference presentations); and has plans to build a substantial public sector employee brief bank on CELA’s Wiki.

The committee meets the first Wednesday of every month at 3pm to plan these activities and discuss developments in the law and issues specific to members’ cases.
